Ingredients

  • 475 ml water 60g cocoa nibs (roasted, optional)
  • Sweetener to taste (optional) Milk to taste (optional)
  • Equipment: Mortar and pestle or a coffee grinder French press coffee maker or a clean jar,
  • tea strainer or cheesecloth.

Method

Begin by coarsely grinding the cocoa nibs in a mortar and pestle or a coffee grinder.
Combine the cocoa nibs and water in a spacious jar or cold brew coffee maker.
Allow the mixture to steep, either in the refrigerator or on the countertop, for 24 hours.
After the steeping period, carefully pour the mixture through a tea strainer or cheesecloth into another jar, separating the grounds from the liquid.
For added flavour, introduce sweetener of your choice, milk or milk alternative, and ice to your preference.
Feel free to experiment with various sweeteners and milk varieties to tailor the brew to your unique taste.
