Spiced chocolate black forest crumble recipe

Ingredients

  • 450g frozen black forest fruits, fresh or defrosted
  • Grated zest and juice 1 orange
  • 1 tsp clear local honey
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 50g softened butter
  • 125g plain Flour
  • 40g caster sugar
  • 50g chopped 60% chocolate
  • 40g fruit, muesli

Method

Preheat the oven to 190ºC, gas mark 5. Tip the fruit with juices into individual pudding dishes.
Stir the orange zest and juice, honey and cinnamon together and pour over the fruit.
In a bowl, rub the butter into the flour to form a breadcrumb like texture
Stir in the sugar chopped chocolate and muesli, spoon the crumble mixture over the fruit to cover it.
Bake, until the top is golden and crisp. (25–30 minutes)

Tip

Add some extra crunch to the crumble topping with a sprinkling of roast cocoa nibs and chopped walnuts
